Job Description

You will be responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the safety & health programs for Oshkosh Corporation. At Oshkosh Corporation safety is an uncompromised value, and the safety of our team members and protecting the communities in which we live is paramount.
YOUR IMPACT
  • Resource for the facility safety leaders
  • Lead continuous improvement projects for safety and health services departments including ergonomics, lean activities, cost saving, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local guidelines regarding health & safety programs
  • Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with local and state regulators
  • Support wellness initiatives
  • Conduct Safety Management System audits throughout Oshkosh Corporation
  • Safety & health tool development
  • Technical resource for the facility safety leaders
  • Assess and improve loss prevention programs and partner with the Facilities on FM Global Risk Management.
  • Assessment and improvement of current loss prevention programs
  • Investigate and report corporate incidents and accidents regarding safety. Report on accident data utilizing a computer database to track trends
  • Evaluate risks and develops guidelines for roles, training, measurements, and rewards for the management system for employee safety
  • Emergency response coordinator for corporate locations
  • Develop health and safety training programs
  • Provide direction and guidance regarding implementation and maintenance of all health and safety related programs
  • Support health services and worker’s compensation claims management staff
  • Provide direction and guidance regarding implementation and maintenance of health and safety related programs.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERTISE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, Civil Engineering, or another related field
  • 5 plus years safety leadership experience
  • Moderate travel required
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
  • CSP, CHMM, CIH, or PE
  • Exhibit strong leadership and project management skills
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Experience with OSHA’s VPP Program
