Responsible for assisting surgeons during intraoperative procedures. $31.50/hr minimum - $47.25/hr maximum (range increases based on education, experience and certifications) Responsibilities

• Applies splints or casts specific to procedure and/or injury.
• Certification (CNOR) for Certified First Assist
• Facilitate safe positioning of patient according to the surgeon’s preference, patient’s anatomical and physiological limits, and surgical procedure to be performed.
• IL RN license required
• Assist surgeon with passing instruments or suture and basic assisting.
• Special Requests (based on training and experience). Qualifications
• BSN required
• BLS required
• Provides manipulation and dissection and/or removal of tissues, aids in implanting, securing, and/or removal of devises and drains.

• Performs layered closure of surgical sites utilizing appropriate techniques according to individual surgeon preference.
• Provides exposure, assists in achieving homeostasis with surgeon’s supervision.
• Applies appropriate dressing material specific to procedure.
• Assesses skin integrity and assists in transfer of patient post-operative.
• Assist surgeon with gowning, gloving, prepping and draping.
