Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center

As the largest hospital in San Luis Obispo County, Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center strives to produce optimal outcomes and exceptional patient experiences to the community it serves. With 162 beds, Sierra Vista puts advanced technology into the hands of experienced medical specialists to deliver quality healthcare. High-level services include neurosurgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, perinatology (high-risk pregnancy), neonatology (high-risk newborn care), pediatrics, cancer care, stroke, gastroenterology and trauma. Sierra Vista houses the largest Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit between Santa Barbara and Salinas, the only dedicated pediatric unit in San Luis Obispo County and serves as the county's designated trauma center. Position Summary

Works with Department Manager and Director to ensure the planning, coordination and provision of nursing care to patients on specified units and shifts. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to nursing and ancillary personnel, commensurate with their scope of practice. Promotes the use of best practices in the delivery of patient care. Facilitates Lean Daily Management activities. Works collaboratively with leadership to promote professional nursing practice and behavior.

Qualifications - External

Required Training/Education/Experience/Certification:

• High School or Equivalent. Associates or Equivalent.
• CA RN license, BLS, ACLS
• Minimum one-year previous critical care, step down or telemetry experience and basic computer skills.

Desired Training/Education/Experience/Certification:

• Previous charge nurse experience in Critical Care setting
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.
• Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• CCRN or RNC
• Bachelor's Degree
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
• Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Pay Range: $49.69 - $77.02
