Electric Boat is the premier designer and builder of nuclear powered submarines for the US Navy and we are experiencing a period of unprecedented growth! We are looking for people who want to learn and grow with the company as we continue to build the most advanced submarines.

All entry level candidates will be placed in one of the following trades based on business needs at time of hire.

*Outside Machinist*
  • Works on the submarine doing assembly and shipboard mechanical work that takes place in the shipyard.
*Pipefitter*
  • Installs, assembles, fabricates, maintains, and repairs mechanical piping systems that carry liquids and gases under varying pressures
*Outside Electrician*
  • Responsible for the electrical wiring of the machines and related equipment supporting many miles of cable in the submarines
  • Painter and Sound Dampener
  • Preserves the hull and components by sealing the submarines with chemicals and paints to prevent corrosion and protect against the accumulation of marine life
  • Laying out & shooting studs, gluing & installing tiles & anti-sweat hardboard
*Shipfitter*
  • Responsible for laying out, fabricating and installing metal structural parts, such as plates, bulkheads, frames, foundations, etc. Align and tracks welds structural parts
*Welder*
  • Responsible for fusing materials together with a wide range of welding processes
*Sheetmetal*
  • Responsible for laying out, fabrication, assembly, and installation of all light gage metalwork which includes air-conditioned ductwork, lockers, cabinets, prefabricated bulkheads, doors and furniture
Paid training will be provided.

This position is located at the North Kingstown, RI location.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • At least 18 years old(within the next six months to apply)
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and in extreme temperature conditions as required
  • US citizen
  • Must be able to train and work on all shifts
Preferred:
  • Vocational HS
  • High school diploma/GED
