R & D Scientist - Hybrid Model

Our premier medical lab client who provides comprehensive clinical quantitative testing and medication monitoring on a national scope is looking to add a R & D Scientist to their team.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Give educational presentations to the production staff.
• Mentor new and existing staff on new methods and technologies.
• Provide technical guidance on the area of expertise and respond to internal and external queries.
• Lead analytical activities and coordinate with other departments to carry out systematic investigations on anomalous patient results.
• Supervise and manage interns.
• Lead method development/validation/transfer activities including protocol establishment, protocol execution, and final report preparation. Ensure data and report integrity.
• Provide technical support to the Toxicology group as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must have a strong analytical chemistry background and have a working knowledge of UPLC, LC-MS/MS, and HRMS instrumentation.
• Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
• Ability to publish in high-impact scientific journals and communicate novel findings at scientific conferences.
• Participate in University collaboration projects.
• Ability to learn new software and technologies to support existing and future business in relevant areas.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively in a group environment.

Education and Experience:

• Experience in a GLP/cGMP bioanalytical regulated contract research or manufacturing organization is a plus.
• Experience with Waters MassLynx, ABSciex Multi-Quant and Analyst software is a plus.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Office and statistical software
• Significant experience using LC/MS/MS (tandem quadrupole and high-resolution accurate mass orbitrap) along with a theoretical understanding of underlying chemical mechanisms related to work.
• Experience with biological sample testing in a BL-2 lab.
• Ability to write clear and concise technical reports.
• Ph.D. with 2+ years of work experience, or MS with 5+ years, or BS with 10+ years of experience, with training in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or other life-science fields.
• This role will allow the employee to have time to be able to publish papers and research articles, as well as advocate to attend scientific conferences.
• Strong communication skills.
