Researcher Jobs

Our client, a premiere architecture firm, is looking for a Research Specialist to join their team. They are looking for a Research Assistant who can manage multiple responsibilities, projects and deadlines in a busy department.

Responsibilities

• Make research reports accessible to the firm; foster connections and efficiencies between design teams performing research on similar typologies, locations, markets, and/or styles
• Educate design staff about research practices and tools
• Create lecture-style presentations and draft copy for use in external and internal events
• Conceive, organize, and coordinate relevant events and exhibitions; develop related programs and written materials
• Administer a yearly prize awarded to staff member
• Publish research on various print and digital platforms
• Prepare research reports (which could include in-depth site analysis and information on architectural style, building type, etc.) for potential and in-contract projects
• Administer a yearly prize awarded to graduate students
• Gather research materials, images, and documents, inside and out of the office
• Identify resources and precedent imagery for project teams

Experience & Qualifications:

• Excellent written communication skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign)
• 1-2+ years relevant experience preferred
• Ability to work successfully with all levels of staff
• Initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work cooperatively in a team-based environment
• Excellent organization, time, and project management skills
• Ability to meet deadlines with fast development cycles while maintaining high production quality
• Knowledge of digital and print reference sources

Education:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master's degree in architecture or related field preferred
