Job summary

The research technician is an entry level research position, responsible for organizing, managing, and analyzing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data from several clinical studies investigating the relationship between MRI findings, in particular how lesions form and repair, and cognitive and physical disability in multiple sclerosis and related diseases. The position includes downloading MRI data after it is acquired, running image processing pipelines, checking the quality of output of these pipelines, and performing manual adjustments as needed. Following processing, manual lesion delineation will be performed, followed by determination of metrics including lesion number and volume and brain tissue volumes, data which will then be added to established study databases in the lab.

Duties and responsibilities

1.Downloading, quality control, and initial processing and organization of MRI data. (15%)

2.Semi-automated and manual image analysis. (70%)

3.Quantification of MRI metrics and maintenance of database with results of MRI analyses. (10%)

4.Other related duties. (5%)

Education

Bachelors degree in science or related field preferred. Basic computer programming skills and/or image analysis experience preferred but not required.
