Job Summary:

Scientist I/II- Chemistry

NEDP, Branford, CT
NEDP, a Genesis Drug Discovery and Development (GD3) subsidiary, is seeking highly motivated and innovative synthetic organic and medicinal chemists to support its client-sponsored small molecule drug discovery programs. Primary responsibilities involve synthesis, purification and characterization of biologically-active organic molecules; analysis of experimental data; preparation of reports and presentation of data.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain an accurate and detailed laboratory notebook with supporting analytical data in a scientifically rigorous manner.
• Prepare reports and write up experimental procedures; present data and progress internally and externally when necessary
• Take personal responsibility for individual and co-worker safety and strictly adhere to all safety procedures and policies
• Contribute to a positive and professional work environment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Characterize intermediate and target compounds using 1H NMR, 13C NMR, HPLC/UPLC and LC/MS.
• Utilize modern and classical organic synthesis techniques, and equipment to efficiently prepare target molecules.

Job Requirements

Ph.D. Degree in Organic Chemistry or equivalent with relevant experience
Experience and qualification:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills; enthusiasm, self-motivation, strong interpersonal skill, able to interact effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Track record of achievement in synthesis of complex organic molecules, extensive knowledge of synthetic methodologies and analytical and purification techniques.
