Other example expected research topics include improving the methods for monitoring and predicting seawater carbonate chemistry; quantifying anthropogenic carbon distributions and their impacts on (primary focus) seawater chemistry and (secondary focus) marine organisms; and/or directly monitoring and mapping ocean carbonate chemistry.
20% (2) Contribute to proposals securing funds to continue the objectives noted above.
10% (3) Present this research in national and local scientific meetings and outreach activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • PhD in Chemistry, Marine Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience can be substituted for degree requirement.

  • Experience with machine learning techniques and their applications in marine biogeochemisty and carbonate chemistry research
  • Experience with marine carbon dioxide removal research
  • Interest in the global carbon cycle, climate change science, and human impacts on the oceans, in particular ocean carbonate chemistry and ocean biogeochemistry
