Job Description

Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, responsible for providing routine to moderately complex technical lab support for a research facility.


Job Duties:

1. Assist in Mouse Husbandry/Inventory/Genotyping.

2. Monitor and maintain assigned lab equipment.

3. Perform the following basic laboratory procedures:

a). Cryosectioning

b). Tissue-sectioning using a vibratome.

c). Electrophysiological data processing.

d). Morphometric analysis of retinal neurons.

4. Maintain an up-to-date lab notebook and prepare periodic inventory reports to PI.


Education:

High School Diploma/GED or above required.


Experience:

  • Able to maintain a lab notebook and prepare periodic written lab inventory reports in English to PI.
  • Previous lab experience not required but a 12-month commitment to the position for learning new lab skills preferred.
  • Familiar with the Microsoft Word/PowerPoint/Excel.
