Summary


Dr. Guizhi (Julian) Zhu Research Group at University of Michigan Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biointerfaces Institute is recruiting a Research Laboratory Specialist with deep knowledge and experimental skills in immunology, at the level of Associate or Intermediate or Senior, depending on qualifications.


With the overarching goal to develop novel and clinically translatable immunotherapeutics and vaccines, Zhu Lab's research interest lies at the interface of RNA/DNA/protein chemistry and engineering, immunology, and applied chemistry and biomaterials. Our current focus is to develop nucleic acid immunotherapeutics/vaccines and their delivery systems, for the prophylaxis and immunotherapy of cancer, infectious diseases, and autoimmune disorders. We have published >100 papers including research articles in Science Advances, Nature Communications, and PNAS. Our research has been supported by >$10 millions external funding from National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Defense (DoD), American Cancer Society (ACS), among others.

Responsibilities*


  • Assist in writing research proposals and manuscripts,
  • Possibility to lead research projects, depending on seniority and interest,
  • Train and assist colleagues in the research group,
  • Design and conduct experiments, mostly related to immunology and animal studies, as part of research projects in the lab,
  • Work with the team on research projects,
  • Other regular duties required for lab management, project management, and research development


Required Qualifications*


  • Extensive knowledge and skills in one or multiple fields of immunology, vaccine, immuno-oncology, related fields.
  • 3-5 years of research experience in wet labs,
  • MS or PhD degrees in immunology or related fields,

  • Knowledge and skills in nucleic acid, vaccine development, cancer immunotherapy
