Job Description
Summary


This posting is for a Research Area Specialist Intermediate. The successful candidate will report directly to two clinician-scientist health services/epidemiological researchers in the department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Michigan Medical School. This individual will be involved in all aspects of the research process, from planning to regulatory approvals, grant writing, participant recruitment, and basic data analysis.

Responsibilities*


Obtaining regulatory approvals for research projects (IBR DUA, MTA, etc.)


Assist with grant writing.


Maintenance of study website(s)


Organizing study team meetings, maintaining meeting minutes/notes


Work with content experts to develop study instruments.


Develop study protocols.


Recruitment, consenting, and enrollment of study participants.


Basic statistical analysis


Writing scientific manuscripts and presenting results at scientific meetings

Required Qualifications*


Intermediate Level - bachelor's degree and 4-5 years of experience in a related field.


Associate Level - bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of experience in a related field.

This position will be integrated in a highly collaborative research team and will include working with faculty, staff, and students within the department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, as well as across the University. Background Screening


Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
