Essential Job Duties
- Bioinformatics analysis of extensive genomics data arising from next-generation sequencing and microarray platforms. Specific data types include DNA methylation sequencing, whole genome sequencing, exome-sequencing, RNA-Seq, scRNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, and array-based high throughput datasets such as 450K/850k.
- Document analysis workflows and methods for further report generation and/or scientific publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Utilize appropriate off-the-shelf tools or in-house methods and keep up with the literature on rapidly evolving next-generation sequence data analysis toolsets.
- Contribute towards managing large biological datasets and maintaining data analysis workflows as necessary for sequencing and microarray data analysis.
- Participate in drafting data analysis plans per project needs, perform bioinformatics analysis of the data, interpret results, and communicate the results with researchers.
- Implement analysis pipelines and perform analyses for single-cell transcriptomics data, and integrate these data with emerging databases of regulatory control in model organisms and human systems
- Perform statistical analysis of genomic datasets and participate in methods development while working with team members.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Masters or PhD in Bioinformatics / Computational Biology / Computer Science / Statistics or a closely related field.
Other Required Qualifications
- Understanding the wide range of bioinformatics tools and methods for analyzing data originating from next-generation sequencing and microarray platforms.
- Hands-on experience with analysis of Methyl-Seq, scRNA-seq, ChIP-Chip, mRNA-seq, and microarray datasets such as Illumina 850k.
- Hands-on experience working in a Linux cluster computational environment
- Experience with applying appropriate statistical and/or bioinformatics analyses to large molecular biological datasets.
- Experience with the use of statistical packages in R and experience in scripting languages such as Python.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record of scientific publication in bioinformatics, genomics, and/or the life sciences.
- Software coding experience in multiple languages is preferred.
- Strong communication and writing skills
