Research Associate Jobs

The Research Associate will have solid experience in molecular biology, cell biology and animal work. The incumbent will be working on developing viral vectors for gene therapies, which will involve molecular cloning, viral vector propagation, tissue culture, animal modeling, data analysis and presentation. This

position will also mentor and guide scientists currently working in the laboratory.

• Assist with of management of laboratory operations, including ordering lab supplies and animals as well as instrument maintenance.
• Train and mentor scientists and students in the laboratory on technical skills and scientific methods.
• Manage ongoing research of viral vector development and coordinates with outside collaborators to facilitate the gene therapy program.
• Follow established departmental and university policies for quality assurance, infection control, safety, and environmental protection.
• Participate as author or co-author on peer-reviewed publications, requiring analysis of data, preparation of manuscript(s), research papers, presentations, and grant applications.
• Develop viral vectors for gene therapies, which will involve molecular cloning, viral vector propagation, tissue culture, animal modeling.
• Provide analysis and presentation of gene therapy program.
• Assist in the implementation of new experimental protocols based on methods described in scientific literature.

EDUCATION

Ph.D. or M.D. degree required.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral research experience demonstrating independence and authorship of published scientific manuscripts required.
• Demonstrated experience in molecular biology, viral vector, tissue culture and animal handling.
