Job Summary

The Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology Department in the laboratory of Bradley Olwin encourages applications for a Research Associate!

The applicants will join a dynamic and well-funded research environment focused on understanding skeletal muscle regeneration and loss of skeletal muscle function during aging in the vibrant Colorado Front Range.

Who We Are

University of Colorado, Boulder in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology in the laboratory of Bradley Olwin.

Our research group is investigating the mechanisms that regulate skeletal muscle regeneration, focusing on skeletal muscle stem cells. We are interested in the biogenesis of skeletal muscle stem cells and understanding the failure of these cells to maintain the skeletal musculature in neuromuscular diseases. An additional interest is focused on understanding the molecular basis and cell biology of skeletal muscle loss during aging. We are funded by the National Institutes of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases, the National Institute of Aging, The Ellison Medical Foundation and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • The position responsibilities include NIH funded research on skeletal muscle regeneration and aging primarily in mouse models with an emphasis on skeletal muscle stem cells.

What We Can Offer

The salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 - $80,000 annually.

What We Require

  • PhD degree in Biochemistry, MCDB, Biological Engineering or equivalent.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Experience in either molecular biology, mouse molecular genetics or computer analyses of omics data.
