Job Summary

The Research Assistant will be involved in product development and optimization of cell culture process and new product development. In particular, he/she will be involved in determining the feasibility of new products and new cell culture processes for in-house and custom projects. This role will also be involved in troubleshooting issues associated with cell culture. This role requires mammalian cell culture experience. Knowledge of process development for antibody production, particularly hybridoma, on a small and large scale is a plus.

He/she must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy. Be able to maintain good documentation practices and generate reports. Must be proficient in computer software use (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task. Must be collaborative and have good communication skills.

• Design and conduct experiments independently.
• Troubleshoot cell based-assays
• Work independently as well as part of a team
• Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced goal-driven environment
• Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.
• Quantify and characterize antibodies by multiple techniques (SDS-PAGE, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, and others)
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with teams including R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Control.
• Troubleshooting and conduct process improvements on hybridoma cell culture, or other required cell types
• Lead laboratory activities such as trainings, ordering supplies, keeping inventories updated.
• Perform hybridoma cell and primary cell culture when necessary.
• Perform good ISO-compliant documentation
• Create SOPs and other documentation relevant for the product development

Minimum Qualifications – Education And Experience

• 0-1 years of experience with SDS-PAGE, ELISA, and flow cytometry.
• B. S. or M.S. in Biology, Immunology or another related field
• At least 2 years of relevant experience working in an academic or industry laboratory

Preferred Qualifications – Education And Experience

• Highly experienced in mammalian cell culture
• Experience in development or characterization of antibodies (ELISA, Flow cytometry, etc.)
• Experience in cell-based assays

The base salary range for this full-time position is $30.25 -$35.00/hr. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
