This position is responsible for conducting research work under supervision and collaboration and includes maintaining the lab stocks, supplies, ordering and activities outlined in “essential functions”.

• Ensures lab is in sterile/aseptic conditions and equipment/plasmids/cells are properly functional/stored and maintained in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines.
• Carry out compliance including procedures and maintaining required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
• The candidate will work independently and also assist with research questions including design, experiments, collection of data, preparation of reagents and set-up, maintenance of equipment, and organizing the lab activities.
• Assists with purchasing lab supplies, stocking and equipment/maintenance and will train/orient new personnel on purchasing process and maintain IBC, IRB & IACUC protocols in place.
• Assists in mouse works.
• Performs data entry and maintains data files on research.
• Performs research assays under direction.
• Prepares tissue cultures, reagents, probe tests, etc.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry or closely related field.Required

Experience

Prior experience in basic/clinical lab is preferred but not required.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is,and commensurate with the $43,500.00 /year to $49,000.00 /year applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates.
