Job Description

Victoria’s Voice Foundation

David and Jacqueline Siegel lost their daughter to an opioid overdose in 2015. Since then, they are committed to saving lives and ending the drug epidemic by preventing use and offering treatment through Victoria’s Voice Foundation (VVF). The mission of Victoria’s Voice Foundation is to advance initiatives, seek policy changes, develop programs and projects or support those created by other credible organizations, that will prevent addiction, address the intersection between mental health and drug abuse, and save lives from overdose.

Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting the development team with fundraising plans, maintaining donor relationships, and advancing the Victoria’s Voice initiatives. The Research and Fund Development Coordinator is tasked with researching, developing, and overseeing the maintenance of current donor lists. Assisting other departments in any and all aspects relating to event planning and execution, VV programming, collaborations, and marketing/media.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Stay up-to-date on drug overdose and awareness statistics, information, and news pertaining to the mission and strategic plan of VV.
  • Research new ways to strengthen and expand partnerships and new opportunities to secure funding.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and Director of Corporate Partnerships to identify and maintain cooperate donor/sponsor relationships.
  • Team member with a serious commitment to the mission and vision of the foundation.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Research:

  • Federal, state, and local drug prevention agency research and data analytics.
  • Responsible for executing donor and prospect research in a timely manner.
  • Drug overdose and user data and analytics as it relates to the industry.
  • Other like nonprofits, best practices, and programs.


2) Fundraising:

  • Provide operational assistance with fundraising events, including donor and sponsor communication.
  • Donor and sponsor fulfillment for deliverables for all events, programs, and annual recognition.
  • Assist with the donor stewardship program.
  • Providing administrative support in developing presentation decks.
  • Pull reports for the fundraising team as needed.
  • Ability to use Raiser’s Edge or other donor database management systems.


3) Speaker’s Bureau:

  • Maintain the Speaker’s Bureau database, booking dates, and communication with members of the Speaker’s Bureau.
  • Provide any additional support to Michael DeLeon and Speaker’s Bureau members as needed.
  • Conduct background checks on all Speakers’ Bureau applicants.
  • Manage communication with the marketing team for Speaker’s Bureau updates on VV website and collateral.
  • Schedule and manage annual training seminar for all Speaker’s Bureau members.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience working in the nonprofit sector or relevant communications company

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or University preferred, or 4+ years of relevant experience

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products, previous experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT is a plus.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with staff.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytic skills, and adaptability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the organization’s mission to donors, volunteers, and the overall community.
