Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.

What you'll be doing...

At Verizon, we don't wait for the future, we build it! Join the industry leader in Network and Telecommunications Services as we embark on transforming our nation's critical communications infrastructure and the FAA's National Airspace System (NAS) network. As a member of our FAA Enterprise Network Services (FENS) team, you will bring your passion, education and experience to this critical mission and interact directly with decision-makers and government staff who are tasked with ensuring the nation's air transportation system's underlying communications infrastructure is secure and always available. We are hiring skilled and energetic candidates to work alongside the best and brightest employees on a long-term career opportunity to design, build and operate the next generation NAS network supporting the busiest, most complex aerospace system in the world.

This role will serve as the Project Manager for Reporting, IMS and Transition Schedule Management. You are able to create the templates, data gathering and framework for our deliverables management tracking with PMIS development. You will work cross functionally with the Deputy Transition Lead, PMIS team, Project Managers, and Program Office to develop, gather, and ensure consistent, progressive updates are captured in PMIS, MS Project and other infrastructure tools. You will always be seeking opportunities for optimization, eliminating duplication, errors, omissions and striving to create professional standardizations across the Project team, the deliverables, and reference materials for the Program.

You collaborate with leadership for status report templates, revenue/forecast/actuals reporting, trending analysis, resource optimization. You ensure we utilize our cross functional teams, business partners, and other Verizon organizations to continue innovation, change/tuning and improvements through the program lifecycle. As gaps are identified, whether in tool functionality, tool utilization (skills, training, user groups, access), interfaces, and/or reliability with Verizon, you will identify training requirements and/or skill sets to enable our team to become more effective. You will work within our PMIS system to create and develop our deliverables tracking system ensuring we have owners, developing action plans, status reporting for progression, review, approvals, and completion/acceptance status. Development of ‘alert’, past due, risk, issues, critical path and variables; escalations, and consolidated Open Actions, risks, problems and procedures revision recommendations, as needed. Working directly with each Transition Project manager by workgroup, you will coordinate with each to establish a project schedule, progression and validation review on weekly basis through the Transition lifecycle.

You work directly with the Business Operations and PMIS team to ensure the project managers, engineering, operations, service delivery, testing and evaluation, business partners, and FAA are updating status/actions correctly. You will identify opportunities, risks, and critical paths for our Transition and Program leadership team to leverage for improvements in outcomes.

Additionally, the ability to access our internal ‘back end’ systems (e.g. ETMS, ESP, E-Z Status, PQ, Salesforce, nSAP, SevOne, etc.) will be beneficial as the requirements and deliverables evolve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interfacing with internal/external stakeholders on a regular basis
