Overview
The Rehabilitation Aide will prepare, maintain, and clean patient treatment and other high traffic areas under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist or a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and within the policies and procedures of the Kennedy Krieger Institute and in accordance with state laws and regulations. This position will assist clinical staff in the provision of patient care programs and perform supportive tasks, including those serving the administrative, maintenance and operational needs of the program.

High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
EXPERIENCE:
Some previous experience working or volunteering in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.

This position will assist clinical staff in the provision of patient care programs and perform supportive tasks, including those serving the administrative, maintenance and operational needs of the program.
Responsibilities
- Participate in maintenance, organization, care, cleaning, transport, tracking, scheduling, and safe storage of equipment.
- Identify and correct/report quality control problems, such as removal and coordination of repair of broken equipment, or environmental hazards.
- Demonstrate appropriate technical proficiency in utilizing cleaning appliances (e.g., washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher).
- Prepare, maintain, and clean patient treatment areas before and after treatment sessions. Adhere to Institute policies regarding patient and staff safety, hygiene, patient privacy, and patient-specific and standard precautions.
- Maintain program supplies, including providing alerts for ordering, inventory control, labeling, and storing supplies.
- Attend staff and supervisory meetings and training sessions.
- May assist with transport of patients as needed.
- Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to photocopying, laminating, preparing packages and envelopes for mailing, and filing patient records.
