Job Title: Registered Nurse Infusion Therapy RN
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse specializing in Infusion Therapy RN to join our healthcare team. The incumbent will be responsible for providing comprehensive, efficient, and safe infusion therapy to patients. As an Infusion Therapy RN, you will play a crucial role in administering medication, monitoring patients, and providing education and support to patients and their families. This position requires excellent clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Evaluate patients' physical and emotional well-being, providing education and support as needed
- Administer and monitor intravenous medications and fluids to patients receiving infusion therapy
- Oversee the preparation, storage, and handling of infusion medications and supplies
- Stay current with advancements in infusion therapy and maintain knowledge of relevant policies, guidelines, and best practices
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans
- Maintain a safe, sterile, and organized environment for the delivery of infusion therapy
- Utilize appropriate infection control measures to prevent the spread of infections
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to infusion therapy
- Perform assessments prior to initiating treatment and monitor patients during and after infusion therapy
- Ensure accurate documentation of medication administration, patient responses, and any adverse reactions
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with specific experience in infusion therapy preferred
- Familiarity with relevant safety precautions and infection control practices
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to provide education and support to patients and their families
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and departmental priorities
- Strong knowledge of infusion therapy principles, techniques, and equipment
- Sound understanding of the pharmacological aspects of intravenous medications
- Must possess a current Registered Nurse license in the state
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and computerized infusion devices
