Unit Information:
- Assess and place midline catheters
- Assess and place PICC lines
- Conduct central line necessity checks
- Perform central line and midline dressing changes
- Perform vascular access assessments and recommendations
- Assess and place peripheral IVs after two unsuccessful attempts by staff
- Consult on any difficult IV access patients for placement of peripheral IVs
- Provide resources to patients, medical staff and nursing staff
- Provide education on all central line and midlines to staff
- Assist as needed with education for case managers and patients being discharged from hospital with central line
Requirements:
Education: Graduation from a qualified, nationally-accredited nursing program.
Experience: One (1) year of nursing experience in an acute care setting required. Two (2) years of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Licensure or Certification: Current RN licensure permitting work in the state of Arizona, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Additional certifications may be required per department.
