Overview:
The Security Specialist is responsible for protecting all company resources and assets while maintaining a safe and secure environment for all company employees, customers, clients, and contractors within an assigned region. This position is expected to function as a subject matter expert in company physical security operations while conducting remote site and corporate physical security audits and assessments, employing and coordinating electronic security assets, supervising and inspecting remote contract security staffing operations, conducting post-incident investigations, responding to company emergencies, writing formal reports, and effectively mitigating security-related incidents or credible threats.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Willingness to submit to and pass a drug screen, thorough background investigation, and polygraph for registration as a private security professional through the state Private Protective Services Board.
  • Supervise and assist with coordination efforts involving contract security services and staffing vendors, site security operations, policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Conduct detailed security assessments of company facilities and project sites and generate professional reports and recommendations.
  • Abe to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adjust quickly to emerging priorities on short notice.
  • Interact as company security liaison with public law enforcement, fire, EMS and other response agencies during emergency situations, response training/exercises, or security planning initiatives.
  • Exceptional adaptability skills, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Write and submit formal security-related documentation such as incident reports and investigation summaries.
  • Must be highly energized and reliable and possess the ability to work with minimal day to day guidance.
  • Maintain and organize security-related supplies and equipment (i.e. surveillance and access control assets)
  • Perform any security duties as required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Assists with researching and implementing cost-effective methodologies for physical security operations.
  • Requires daily travel within assigned region. Must be willing to travel outside of assigned region anywhere within the United States, no more than 10%.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s licenses and drive a company assigned vehicle.
  • Conduct security audits of all company office facilities, warehouses, remote depots, project sites, and utility solar farms within an assigned region or as directed to support the company’s security program.
  • Conducts security-related training and employee/contractor orientations when required.
  • Perform as an emergency first responder to company-related medical emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms, or intrusion alarms following established company emergency response procedures.
  • Assist with company drug screening program.
  • Conduct investigations, on and off company property, involving suspected or actual threats and incidents to include but not limited to communication of threats, larceny, trespassing, vandalism, waste/fraud/abuse, unethical behavior or actions, policy violations and any illegal activities.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Ability to travel to project sites throughout the US
  • Superb written and verbal communications skills, as well as being an exceptional collaborator.
  • Strong organizational skills necessary to document and track matters from inception to resolution.
  • HS diploma.
  • 5+ years security, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Proficiency with common computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Access, Project & SharePoint; Viewpoint,)
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations and recommend solutions
