Job Description

:

The Regional Environmental Specialist will support the Regional Environmental Manager in managing network environmental governance and compliance for multiple segments in North America (Mars Petcare, Mars Food, & Royal Canin). This associate will assist network facilities with environmental permits, programs, as well as records/document/tool organization.

The Regional Environmental Specialist will support collaboration with Engineering and help to enhance the business’ project review process with respect to environmental impacts and will also ensure that facilities continue to adhere to ISO 14001:2015 standards.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental studies or 2-3 years of work related experience
  • First years of experience working in a technical manufacturing environment
  • Project Management experience or leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Project Management Experience

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Assist with Engineering collaboration and development of permit guidance documents
  • Assist with Technical Reviews for Environmental Compliance
  • Assist with data entry, reporting and conformance to the SiG for Operations Program
  • Drive maintenance of site-specific environmental programs (e.g., SPCC Plans, and SWPPP programs)
  • Ensure that environmental permits are kept current and assist with the associated application/permit renewal process
  • Provide Regional SharePoint document input and organization
  • Support sites with regulatory requirements, environmental permit conditions/records, and external reporting
  • Assist with strengthening the HSE Management System
  • Provide Regional SMARTSHEET tool support
  • Environmental Compliance - Assure the ongoing environmental governance and environmental permit compliance of the network manufacturing facilities. Environmental areas include the following: Air, Wastewater, Storm Water, Water, and Hazardous Waste
