Summary/Objective:


The Receiving position verifies and keeps record of incoming shipments by performing the following duties aligned with quality, safety, and productivity standards.


Duties and Responsibilities:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Maintenance of good housekeeping practices
  • Operates lift trucks, forklifts or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments, areas or off of trucks;
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations;
  • Unload trucks using a scanner or pick list generated by the Receiving Clerk or department leader;
  • Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department leader;
  • Assurance of proper parts specifications (size, dimensions, gauge, etc.) and quality standards for product completion;
  • Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages;
  • Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times;


Working Conditions:


While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The team member may occasionally be exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud. The team member will be required to work around machinery, trucks, and powered lifts.


Essential Functions:


  • Must be able to work as a part of a team to achieve the company’s overall goals;
  • Must be able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations;
  • Must be able to read and process written communication including, but not limited to packing slips;
  • Must be able to prioritize and easily adapt to changes through the day.
  • Must be able to operate appropriate electronic equipment such as a scanner, computer, and copier/printer;
  • Must possess successful problem-solving skills;
  • Must be able to physically lift and maneuver weights up to fifty pounds;
  • Must be able to operate a Lift Truck;
  • Must be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships with leaders, fellow team members, customers, etc.;

Supervisory Responsibility:


This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.


Physical Demands:


While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The team member may have to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:


This is a full-time hourly position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and the Supply Chain Manager.


Travel:


Travel is not required for this position.


Required Education and Experience:


  • One year of manufacturing experience in a shipping/receiving role
  • Forklift experience
  • High school diploma/GED


Work Authorization/Security Clearance:


Must be able to pass E-Verify.
