Job Description
THE POSITION

Do you enjoy research and customer service? In this position you will determine appropriate property values for right of way acquisition needs on highway improvement projects. You will spend time at the courthouses of six counties reviewing records to determine ownership, easements and other covenants. Providing courteous, prompt and accurate customer service relative to property owners. At times you will have to testify at Hearings and trials for damage resolutions.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position you will appraise residential zoned land and residential properties of one-to-four family dwelling units and single-family dwellings for right-of-way acquisition needed for highway improvements. You will ensure that appraisals reflect fair market values for just compensation of damages, and compliance, with all appraisal rules and regulations and all state and federal eminent domain rules and regulations and are completed in a timely manner to meet letting schedules.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: This position will have the option to work from home (telework) part-time after an 8 week Employee Performance Review is Satisfactory. In order to telework, a securely configured high speed internet connection is required. If the selected candidate is unable to telework, reporting to the headquarters location (Oil City PA) will be required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Special Requirements:
  • This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
  • This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser certification.
  • This positions must obtain an active Pennsylvania Certified General Real Estate Appraiser certification within 2 years of employment.
