R&D Group Leader - Admixtures

MAPEI is looking for a Concrete Admixtures Group Leader to join our lab located in Swedesboro, NJ. The ad is open to international applicants available for redeployment in the USA.

In this position you will be responsible for all R&D lab activities related to the Concrete/Admixture business, your main responsibility will be to supervise and direct the research group and analytical group, finding innovative ways to apply or combine existing technologies in order to expand opportunities and further develop our products and market share.

• Detect potential problems and develop corrective action plans.
• Apply lab procedures and good chemical hygiene practices while being able to detect potential problems in the development of new products.
• Train and coach direct report group members in MAPEI procedures and laboratory practices.
• Supervise and direct a research group or analytical group within R&D as assigned by the Director of R&D.
• Be a functional expert in the technology area of the group.
• Plans experiments; execute and report test data on areas of responsibility.
• Communicate with all internal and external MAPEI customers about the progress of individual projects, as required.
• Oversee application of assigned test methods in accordance with established quality procedures.
• Manage and execute, in an autonomous way, large or multi disciplinary scope projects (evaluation, management, formulation, tests, analysis and interpretation, report and conclusion).
• Participate in the strategic planning and execution of large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of eight or more years applicable work experience or related experience or any equivalent combination of related training and experience
• Minimum of Bachelor’s (B.A.) degree from a four year College or University, advanced degree, strongly preferred
• Ability to work independently and to travel throughout the assigned territory
• The position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment. Use Microsoft Office Suite software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, as well as using the Internet.
• Strong knowledge of the market and industry
• Valid state driver’s license.
