Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Radiological Services Attendant.

In this role, the successful candidate Assists X-Ray Technologist with preparing patients and exam areas for various radiologic examinations. Maintains equipment , supply levels and cleanliness of exam rooms. Receives guidance from Manager/Supervisor and Lead X-Ray Technologist.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepares patient for procedure. Gathers and sets up equipment and supplies according to departmental procedures; notifies Technologist of patient arrival.
• Assists with other duties as required including answering phones taking messages, administering surveys, etc.
• Uses standard procedures to identify the correct patient. Asks patient to confirm his/her identity by stating their first name. Introduces self to the patient in a pleasant and courteous manner. Gives patient appropriate gown/shorts for examination requested . May assist to lift and transfer patient onto the exam table. Provides for patient comfort before , during and after the procedure , which may include: staying with the patient while the technologist leaves the room. Recognizes need for and follows isolation precautions.
• Ensures the exam rooms are sufficiently stocked and neat; changes linen bags throughout the day and replenishes linen and other supplies as needed. Cleans the rooms after every patient.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations mission and core values and incorporates them into the performance of duties.
• Serves as a liaison between front desk, lead technologists, RNs, physicians and patients. Escorts patients from waiting area to changing rooms to procedure rooms.
• Demonstrates skill in using the hospital and radiology information systems as they relate to radiology.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability and knowledge of proper body mechanics in order to lift parients.
• 1 year healthcare-related experience, must include customer service experience with direct patient contact.

Preferred Qualifications:
High School Degree or the equivalent.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $23.47 - $25.85 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
