What you'll do:

As an experienced radiation effects engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing customer requirements, flowing requirements down to the module level, evaluating components for radiation effects, devising test plans and procedures to qualify parts, performing radiation testing, and managing radiation effects sub-contractors.

The day-to-day:

Responsibilities include but are limited to:

  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Present analysis and test results to internal and external customers
  • Develop radiation test plans and procedures
  • Conduct radiation analysis
  • Coordinate radiation testing with labs and universities
  • Support proposals
  • Working with the customer to determine requirements
  • Working with engineers on parts selection
  • Conduct radiation testing and write test reports
What you'll need:
  • Desire to expand their skills to support other roles survivability roles such as EMI and ESD
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills and work ethic
  • Ability to work and exercise judgment independently
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Security clearance
  • Experience working in a new product development environment
  • Strong leadership skills
  • 10+ years of radiation effects experience
  • US Government position, U.S. Citizenship required
What will help you on the job:
  • Experience with FASTRAD radiation analysis tool
  • Experience with radiation effects of space flight hardware
  • Self-directed but good at working in a team
  • Master of Science in Engineering
  • Experience with RF modules, test equipment, and components
Salary range: $165,450.00 - $266,750.00 / annually : At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
