Job Description
Quantitative Research Credit group is looking for quant researcher who will leverage their data and analytical skills to support the credit trading desk.


Quantitative skills are at the core of J.P. Morgan's capabilities, contributing critically to the success and innovative power of our firm. The team's mission is to develop cutting-edge next generation analytics and processes to transform, automate and improve the trading operations of our bond and flow credit derivative business.


Job Summary


The QR Credit group is looking for a strong quantitative researcher who will leverage their data and analytical skills to provide Analytics, Automation and in general help direct the decision making process of the credit trading desk. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of credit markets and trading, strong knowledge of statistical methods including machine learning, strong Python programming skills and outstanding communication skills.


Job Responsibilities


  • Work on the trading desk to build analytics and processes that help in decision making and/or simplify their workflow
  • Architect and manage the evolution of the code base, including collaborating with other teams to maximize scale and leverage across the organization
  • Proactively identify opportunities for QR to leverage data and analytics to enhance the Trading business
  • Innovate and evolve credit models, leveraging a combination of diligent data analysis, traditional credit quant reasoning, and advanced machine learning techniques


Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills


  • Demonstrated experience applying statistical and/or machine learning techniques, preferably in the financial industry
  • Strong Python programming, including code architecture. Ability to manipulate and analyze complex, large scale, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
  • Academic degree (MSc or PhD, or equivalent) in a quantitative field (i.e. Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computed Science, etc.)
  • Ability to work as part of a team, cooperative attitude
  • Autonomy, excellent communication and strong motivation
  • 5+ years of professional experience


Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills


  • Experience in credit markets, or at least in a fixed-income environment
  • Significant experience (ideally at least 5 years of experience) working in a quantitative group covering investment and/or trading businesses
