Responsibilities


  • Audit processes, test and inspect products, and compile statistical data to define and maintain quality and reliability standards.
  • Implement customer implementation activities.
  • Conduct out of box audits (OBA) as required.
  • Download quality information from the quality system for use in QA reports.
  • Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and collaborate with management or engineering staff to define quality and reliability standards.
  • Purge material as needed.
  • Select products for audits at specified stages in production or post-production process and test them for various qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or cosmetic characteristics.
  • Provide factory hold up to identify and resolve issues related to purchased parts, materials, and manufacturing.
  • Review SPC data and confirm the effectiveness of actions.
  • Perform out of box audits (OBA) and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials.
  • May perform receiving inspection.
  • Perform product inspection, audits of quality control programs, and first article inspections.
  • Maintain the gage track program, print a list of gauges due for calibration each month, and follow up with calibration.
  • Conduct calibration and inspection of flat blank layouts.
  • Ensure raw materials, in-process, and finished products meet company standards.
  • Validate the proper functioning of toolings and gauges (microscope, magnifier, etc.).
  • Select processes for auditing, primarily in the manufacturing areas, and check for features like ESD practices, documentation, training, and process integrity.
  • Review Quality Auditors' assistance and validate the Check List at the beginning of each shift.
  • Perform calibration on inspection tools like micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.
  • Prepare graphs or charts of data and enter data into the computer for research purposes.
  • Use engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, or defined plans to perform complex engineering testing, checkout, root cause research, and corrective actions.
  • Update general documentation such as quality alerts.
  • Recommend modifications to quality or production standards, programs, or reports for optimum quality within equipment capability.
  • Send gauges out for calibration and maintain calibration records.
  • Meet SSYMA requirements (boats, goggles, gloves, earplugs).
  • Research engineering test results and implement process changes to resolve problems.
  • Record audit data and apply statistical quality control procedures.
  • Ensure scrap disposition at MRB within 24 hours.
