Description

Responsible to facilitate process/procedures to insure optimum quality is maintained during manufacturing process. To insure the establishment of and adherence to IATF16949 Standards.

Essential Function:

• Promotes an associate relations environment that is consistent with long-term management objectives.
• Perform system audits to verify adherence to IATF16949 standards.
• Aid in the evaluation of all deviation requests.
• Review all corrective actions (internal/external) for verification of problem resolution.
• Aid in the establishment of IATF16949 Standards.
• Review supplier parts/documents for PPAP approval.
• Prepare PPAP documentation and other correspondence to customer(s).
• Interface with all departments/suppliers to optimize quality.
• Promotes continuous improvement atmosphere.
• Technical support to QA staff and manufacturing.
• Review supplier parts/documents for PPAP approval.
• Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) for new programs for a group of specified customers.

Secondary Functions:

• Performs other duties as necessary.
• Recommend procedures and budget for quality engineering areas.
• Ensure quality customer files are current to IATF16949 requirements.

Qualifications

Essential Functions Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

• Sometimes lifts, carries or moves objects up to 25 pounds, occasionally over 60 pounds.
• Possible serious injury due to carelessness around equipment.
• Office environment with noise from computer peripherals such as mainframe, disk drives and test equipment.
• Spends time in travel between customers, using an automobile in high traffic areas. Exposure to automobile accidents causing bodily injury.
• Factory environment with noise from manufacturing equipment. Exposure to dangerous equipment.

Specialized Training, Skills, Abilities, Experience:

• Personal computer skills needed.
• 4-year degree in quality or engineering/related field, or ASQ Engineer Certification, equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of quality systems, statistical process control and blueprints.
• 3-5 years previous experience in an automotive quality assurance or customer environment.
