Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with a strong background in automation tools, SQL, and manual ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) testing. As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications through various testing methodologies. You will collaborate closely with the development team, business analysts, and stakeholders to identify and address any defects or issues in the software.

• Will 1-2 onsite visits a month in Troy, MI office.
• 12-month contract

Responsibilities:

• Document test results, defects, and test coverage in a clear and concise manner.
• Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in software testing.
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to validate software functionality and performance.
• Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Perform database testing using SQL queries to verify data consistency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with the development team to identify, reproduce, and troubleshoot defects, and ensure their timely resolution.
• Continuously improve testing processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance overall QA efficiency and effectiveness.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using automation tools, frameworks, and languages such as Selenium, Cucumber, or other similar tools.
• Perform manual testing of ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software applications.

Requirements:

• Solid understanding of ETL processes and experience in manual ETL testing.
• Proven work experience as a QA Engineer or similar role.
• Proficiency in SQL and ability to write complex queries for data validation and verification.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of different software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and ability to work in an agile environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
• Strong experience in automation testing using tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, or similar.
• Relevant certifications in software testing or quality assurance are a plus.
