Nuclera is a venture-backed, founder-driven biotech company headquartered in Cambridge, UK with significant operations in Boston, USA. The company’s mission is to improve human health by making proteins accessible. We are beginning this mission through the launch and on-going development of our eProtein Discovery platform. eProtein promises to be a breakthrough protein expression, characterization and purification technology that brings rapid protein access to the life science benchtop and accelerates drug discovery process.

We are looking for an enthusiastic quality engineer to support the R&D, Manufacturing and Quality functions at Nuclera. This will require someone who can be hands on, with a good eye for detail. The role will also require rigorous data collection and strong statistical analysis skills. This role suits someone who is used to working in a fast paced environment where delivery to tight timelines is essential.

This role reports directly to the Quality Team Lead.

About the role:

  • Leading SPC activities to support the process engineering team.
  • Implementing effective quality control workflow solutions to improve process capability and product quality through the manufacturing processes.
  • Owning Preventative Maintenance and Calibration programs.
  • Supports other Quality department tasks as necessary.
  • Driving robust documentation related to root cause investigations and FMEA.
  • Initiating and contributing to Change Requests for the Change Control Board, providing coherent and clearly presented data.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis techniques.
  • 3 years of experience in a quality engineer role.
  • Experience selecting and using appropriate quality tools.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems documentation.
  • Organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Experience of implementing and sustaining a 5S/CANDO workplace.

Desirable:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
  • Quality Audit skills.
  • Knowledge of Clean Room automated manufacturing processing equipment.
