Position in this function work concurrently on several projects, each with specific instructions that may differ from project to project


You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical system use cases to support testing of data integration processes for reporting and data warehouse solutions
  • Actively participate in walk-through, inspection, review, and user group meetings for quality assurance
  • Plan, document, evaluate and track testing results to ensure reporting and data integration solutions are free from defects
  • Comply with standards of the software development life cycle and follow strategies, plans and procedures within information technology software
  • Participate in production implementation verification and being accountable for validating data quality
  • Communicate and interact with appropriate areas on problems, changes and enhancements that may impact data, workflow and /or functionality within Information Technology software
  • Manage testing process to ensure that timelines and deliverables are met
  • Ensure alignment of quality/test plans to business request
  • Comply with standards and strategies of the software development life cycle
  • Establish and maintain test cases and test data
  • Work with business partners, systems analyst, designers and programmers to create/analyze required project documents and ensure that quality assurance processes are incorporated
  • Analyze and dissect system requirements and technical specifications to create and execute test cases for reporting and data integration solutions
  • Develop, document, and implement risk mitigation plans
  • Ensure that quality processes are carried out through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Document test results and ensure adherence to testing standards

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with data testing
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience with relational database systems and database concepts
  • 2+ years of experience with data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts
  • 3+ years of experience working with data, data analysis and SQL (Structured Query Language)
  • 3+ years of Quality Assurance / Testing experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience with data integration concepts
  • Proven proactive problem solver and critical thinker with excellent planning, coordination, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Proven possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to communicate diplomatically with colleagues and clients from various functional areas
  • Health care experience
  • IT experience in a large, enterprise environment
  • Cloud based experience (i.e., Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS etc.)
  • Data Visualization (i.e., Tableau, Power BI and etc.)
  • Experience with Quality Assurance testing tools
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
