QC Technician

We are looking to add a full-time Quality Control Technician to our team in Beltsville, MD. This position reports to the Quality Control Supervisor and provides fast analytical diagnostics on ceramic production, incoming production materials, and powder process analysis. The QC Tech role will gain valuable experience in analytical techniques and collaborate across multiple departments to ensure accurate reporting of results.
Responsibilities
Operate various analytical instrumentation including, X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD), Brunnett-Emmett-Teller (BET) Analyzer, Particle Size Distribution (PSD) Analyzer, and other QC lab equipment according to Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs).
Input analytical data and interpret results using standard procedures to understand sample quality.
Flag raw materials or finished products with chemical properties outside of company standards by following Standard Operating Procedures.
Manage incoming chemical samples while practicing safe handling and proper storage procedures.
Practice efficient and effective work habits for sample analysis turn-around period.
Properly document lab samples in internal databases and track progress of analytical testing to completion.
Maintain sample organization for ease of lab use.
Maintain a clean, organize and safe lab environment.
Support QC Team as necessary.
Required Experience
Associate degree in science/Engineering preferred.
0-5 years lab experience in an industrial lab setting.
0-5 years hazardous chemical experience
0-5 years experience analytical techniques
Required Skills
Ability to plan, organize and take initiative.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Must have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, reliable, and prioritize workload.
Working knowledge of MS Office.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
Knowledge of Good Lab Practices (GLP)
