Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex testing processes on production batches, measuring various physical and chemical characteristics of the products, such as viscosity, weight, flow, gloss, and color, among others.
  • Keep detailed records and charts of all products tested, ensuring comprehensive documentation and traceability.
  • Report test results and observations promptly and legibly on the appropriate QC cards or files.
  • Collaborate with the QC manager, production staff, and development team to evaluate production or field-related issues, proactively identifying potential causes of complaints.
  • Contribute to sustaining and improving cleanliness and orderliness through area housekeeping responsibilities.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment, ensuring accurate and reliable results in all testing procedures.
  • Actively engage in 5S activities to promote efficiency and organization in the work area.
  • Follow all established safety rules and procedures, demonstrating unwavering integrity in adherence to the company's Code of Conduct.


Education and Experience:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Preferably 1-2 years of technical or community college courses with a focus on physical science, or 3 or more years of experience in the paint and coatings manufacturing industry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Dedication to safety leadership and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Strong multitasking and priority management abilities.
  • Basic mathematics skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and measurements.
  • Comfort working in a heavy manufacturing environment with exposure to chemical agents.
  • Competence in operating and controlling equipment for performing job duties safely and effectively.
  • Ability to monitor equipment gauges and displays for proper operation.
  • Strong near vision to read labels and examine details up close.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow safety instructions and guidelines.
  • Physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to pass the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color test with a score of 32 or lower.
