Job Description

As a Quality Technician, you will perform laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of in-process batches, raw materials, and finished products for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development.

Powder Facility Shift hours 3 pm to 11 pm


Key Responsibilities

  • Verify formula and component specifications on batch tickets.
  • Record test results on batch tickets and in the company's computer operating system.
  • Test samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.
  • Manage quality records and retains production batches.
  • Conduct incoming raw materials testing, ensuring conformance to required specifications.
  • Set up, adjusts, calibrates, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments such as paint guns, mixers, viscometers, chemical balances, pH meters, gloss meters, solids analyzer, spectrophotometer, and other equipment.
  • Evaluate retains of production batches in response to quality complaints.
  • Perform occasional quality audits of laboratory and production work instructions to ensure compliance with the company's Quality Policy.
  • Perform routine production quality checks to ensure finished products are filled and packaged according to specifications.

Qualifications

  • Ability to clearly identify and communicate issues that need to be addressed and to take the necessary steps to avoid future errors.
  • General knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
  • Inspection, test, and product evaluation experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field preferred.
