Job Description
Basic Function
Develop, implement and administer a package quality program and quality policies on all shifts that ensure product integrity as established by Marketing and the Research Center, and compliance with all product specifications, requirements and Revlon procedures. Supervise the activities of Receiving Inspection employees, monitor their effectiveness in providing the required control and assist them when necessary regarding major and critical quality decisions. Provide technical support and problem solving services to Operations Departments. Coordinate selected new product start-ups and perform special projects as necessary. Develop, direct, assist and implement plans and programs designed to assure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and other related Regulatory requirements on all shifts.
Provide Technical support to assure that suppliers deliver acceptable components to all Revlon facilities, conducting audits to assure compliance to Revlon standards and procedures. Visit suppliers as needed to enhance their levels of compliance and offer management and technical support for any shortfalls in capabilities or processes. Develop ongoing programs with suppliers to reduce rejection percentages and provide JIT receipts for inventory.
Required Knowledge And Skills
  • Understanding of blueprints and packaging specification/technical requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of Quality systems and procedures, statistics, managerial disciplines, industry regulations, cosmetic manufacturing and controls. Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Develop, implement and administer quality systems and procedures to ensure product integrity and compliance with all product specifications, standards, and Revlon or Regulatory requirements. Continually evaluate the effectiveness of those systems and procedures, implementing and/or recommending changes that will facilitate production without adversely affecting the level of control or perceived finished product quality.
  • Provide quality/technical support and problem solving services to the Operations Departments. Design experiments to help resolve manufacturing and filling problems. Recommend process upgrades, equipment modifications, design changes and/or specification changes as appropriate.
  • Minimum Years’ Experience Required: 5 years
  • Supervise the activities of the employees in the Receiving Inspection department. Monitor their effectiveness in providing the required control, and assist them when necessary regarding critical quality decisions. Address the need for disciplinary action, employee performance, recommended promotions, etc. Provide technical training for these employees.
  • Independently, make judgments and decisions regarding the acceptability of received goods that do not meet specifications, standards or other requirements. Advise Management of all such decisions, the rationale for making these decisions, and the potential quality impact to the Corporation. Ensure that only approved materials are used for production or released for distribution.
  • Recommend, as necessary, a rework methodology for effectiveness, segregation and disposition of non-conforming material.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical, scientific or Business related discipline preferred
  • Responsibility for Receiving Inspection and some Quality Engineering activities. Assess and control the acceptability of selected purchased items received at Oxford.
  • Prepare and issue reports summarizing supplier quality performance. Highlight chronic suppliers/problems and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Monitor applicable new product activities, evaluating for potential problems or improvements.
