Where You’ll Work & The Scope:
Vishay Dale in Columbus, NE is currently seeking a full time Director of Quality responsible for providing general management of the Quality Assurance Departments within the Dale Resistors Division to assure compliance to internal and external quality requirements, to promote continuous quality improvements in product and service performance and to manage Quality Department costs to meet Company operating objectives.
How You’ll Help Us Build The DNA of Tech:
- Establishes a monitoring system to assure that the Division is being responsible to the customer’s needs and that the customer is satisfied with the Division’s program.
- Works with Engineering to determine qualification procedures for new product designs and for design changes to existing products. Establishes and implements procedures for in-process and final inspection, Statistical Process Control, environmental and reliability testing.
- Works closely with the Customer Service Department to determine Customer quality requirements and to resolve Customer reported quality and service problems.
- Provides management of the Division Quality Departments through direction of the Quality Managers at each Division location.
- Establishes the Quality Assurance specifications that determine standard quality approval criteria and procedures for the Division products.
- Works with Divisional leadership team to establish goals and a system to monitor divisional quality goals and to assure compliance within the division.
- Performs internal quality audits for the Corporate Quality Assurance Department while working at other Vishay facilities worldwide.
- Provides Division quality reports, including customer returns, initial and final response time reports, as required by the Corporate Quality Assurance Department.
- Develops and directs the implementation of all changes to Process Control, Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures to improve product quality, reliability, yield and cost effectiveness.
- Works with the Reliability Test Laboratory to establish product qualifications including internal, military and customer test programs.
- Establishes and monitors the annual budget and capital program for the Quality Departments within the Division.
- Assures adherence to the requirements specified in Corporate Quality Assurance (CQA) procedures.
- Establishes and approves all product quality and performance standards for components manufactured by the Division.
Experience You’ll Need
- Knowledge and experience to participate and serve as Company representative in military and industrial organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and more than 7 years related experience.
- Requires effective and timely communication with Vishay Corporate Quality Assurance on all sensitive and important quality and service issues.
- A thorough and applied knowledge of electronics, electrical and environmental simulation test equipment with emphasis on QA administration and management, quality engineering and statistics.
- Must have extensive knowledge of industry quality specifications including ISO-9000, QS9000, AS9000 and Mil-Std-790. Must be capable of becoming certified as an Internal Auditor for ISO/QS9000.
- Requires excellent communication skills to deal effectively with auditors, customers and employees.
- Worldwide travel (frequently with short notice) occasionally required to participate in customer meetings and to conduct business at other Vishay facilities.
- Understanding and ability to evaluate computerized data systems and statistical analysis of complex information.
