Position Summary

This position is accountable for all aspects of Quality Management. This includes responsibility for all management and technical related issues and the communication of Quality related matters, to ensure compliance with the company s standards of expectations and contract specific documents. This position also is the chief liaison to customers regarding quality issues. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Manage and support all QC personnel including, performance evaluations, training, and development to ensure a highly competent and engaged workforce.

Fill out purchase orders and coordinate delivery of materials with project schedules.

Implement a Quality Management System to ensure compliance with quality standards and/or contract specific documents that may include QC and QA inspection and testing programs, accredited lab facilities, and quality communication.

Provide technical support for proposals, plants/materials, construction, sales, and estimating teams during pre-bid, construction, and post-construction phases of a project to ensure quality opportunities are optimized and all requirements are met.

Conduct specification reviews, develop project QC/QA plans, generate material submittals, develop and review mix designs, review quality data and inspections, and manage QA/QC results to assure timely project success.

Provide customer service to help provide customer satisfaction. This could include internal and external technical communication on materials, production, and/or construction processes.

Establish and maintain relationships with material suppliers, local public agency staff, customers, and local inspection and testing companies.

Support evaluation and implementation of new material technologies when applicable.

Participate in and promote safety procedures to promote a safe working environment including compliance with all safety rules and regulations.

Supervise field Quality Control employees.

Education and/or Experience:

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor s Degree in Quality Control, Construction Management, or related field; and
  • Previous supervisory skills preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in quality control; or

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Driver s License
  • ACI certification and/or NDOT Certification preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, and during busy season may be required to work 5 to 6 days a week.
  • Must have technical knowledge of materials and construction concepts.
  • Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.
  • Must be able to periodically lift and/or move 50 to 75 pounds.
