General Description Of Position


Identify during inspection, collect data, and lead resolution of quality problems with incoming parts, factory processes, and finished products (boats). Implement quality systems principles to detect, prevent, and/or correct product or service deficiencies. In addition responsible for developing and supporting the planning, design, and execution of test plans, test scripts, and process plans for projects.


The candidate should demonstrate strong attention to detail and have analytical and problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate must be able to interpret and implement quality assurance standards and provide accurate and comprehensive feedback to colleagues.


Experience Requirements


Education | Work Experience:


Must possess an Associate degree. An engineering or science (BS) degree is Preferred. Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and database software is required.


Excellent presentation and written communication skills.


Previous marine background or Engineering experience is a plus.

Duties:


  • Conduct esthetical and dimensional inspections of all parts manufactured at IBC and to finished boats.
  • Monitor efforts to resolve product issues and track progress
  • Analyze, investigate, and recommend corrective action for quality issues.
  • Analyze, investigate, and recommend corrective action for quality issues.
  • Spot areas for improvement to enhance the product's efficiency
  • Compile and analyze statistical data.
  • Assist in developing forms, procedures, and work instructions used to conduct daily (routine) operations of the quality department.
  • Design and implement testing plans for products
  • Support manufacturing in achieving production targets and goals by interfacing and cooperating with
  • Coach other production personnel in the use of quality tools.
  • Conduct and participate in corrective action reporting.
  • Develop process control plans based on Engineering and Manufacturing guidelines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Participate in quality meetings as needed.
  • Investigate supplier issues and communicate to the Manager and/or supplier.


Other support departments (e.g., Engineering, Production, Sales, etc.).


  • Other duties as requested by Quality Department management.
  • Provide accurate information to be used for monthly reporting and corrective actions.
  • Provide the necessary data/information to Manager to review, update, and Pareto inspection data, and determine necessary actions required to reduce Internal defects per unit (IDPU) and improve first time through (FTT)
  • Actively promote continuous improvement for all processes and products.
  • Communicate with the customer service team on repair status and return to owner.
  • Develop product quality standards, specifications, and criteria for acceptance.
  • Issue, track actions to closure, and close quality alerts.
  • Support the annual quality department plan, targets, and objectives.
  • Participate in the review, approval, and validation of material and process changes.
  • Participate in new boat updates and/or design reviews.
