HMS is hiring a Quality Assurance Manager who is responsible for promoting quality throughout the Account, implementing, and leveraging the Quality Management Systems (QMS) at all levels of the organization. The Quality Assurance Manager evaluates strategies, policies, processes, and procedures as part of the management system. They will promote a Quality Culture, support initiatives that drive ongoing process improvement, and facilitate changes to the quality strategy for the business. This position must be the primary interface, owning and managing the local implementation of the Account Quality Management System. The Quality Assurance Manager maintains and implements certification coverage, ensuring ongoing compliance to standards and external certification. They will analyze data, identify trends, and use statistics to ensure the processes meet company, business, and customer needs. They will promote understanding of the processes required for fulfillment of customer satisfaction and contractual commitments and use improvement methodologies to provide leadership to support business performance.

Daily, the Quality Assurance Manager for HMS manages a small staff focused on reviewing, reporting, and improving quality performance. They have accountability for results of a quality program with a state government client. They will apply advanced subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving common and complex business/technical issues within established policies. They will be responsible for providing guidance on process improvements and recommending changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy for area of responsibility. They will plan, direct, and monitor operational/tactical activities of staff and recruit and support the development of direct staff members.

Your role in our mission


  • Communicates project status and escalates issues to leadership.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for performance and process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.
  • Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors developing, implementing, and maintaining systems for quality management and continuous improvement of products or solutions.
  • Provides support for internal and external audits, working closely with internal departments, the client, and external auditors, in preparing for, conducting, and follow through for all audits.
  • Works with internal and external security teams on security and system access audits.
  • Works with internal business teams, trainers, and publications teams to create, review, and refine training materials.

What we’re looking for

  • Audit/assessment certification preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma or other Quality certification required.
  • Minimum of three years’ quality management experience for a government or healthcare payer, including experience during implementation and testing of a new claims payment system.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required.

The pay range for this position is $109,400.00 - $136,800.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
