The Point of Sale Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst position is responsible for adhering to standardized QA process, policies, and documentation standards, overseeing all aspects of project testing and test environment. This position will work with a team consisting of Architect, System Analyst, Product Owner, Delivery Manager, and the suppliers. In addition, this position will collaborate with teams across the enterprise.

ROLE
Confirms accuracy and completeness of functional, integration, system, end to end, and acceptance test plans.
Designs, creates and approves (or oversees the creation and approval of) project test cases, scripts and conditions as well as QA-related documentation.
Develops and ensures adherence to standardized software quality assurance best practices, policies, processes and controls as it pertains to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Develops and communicates accurate project estimates based on testing dependency analysis as requested by the project/management team.
Analyzes relevant business content and participates in requirement gathering sessions providing input on requirement and design documents, assessing requirements for testability, clarity, purpose, inherent ambiguity, contradictory functions and implementation.
Ensures test cases are traceable to originating story/requirement and those tests fully test feature requirements and/or user story acceptance criteria.
Manages defects appropriately by assigning, monitoring and providing timely communication through the defect lifecycle.
Conducts QA risk management process throughout the test plan phase defining and differentiating between risk, defect, and issue.
Assists teammates in growing and developing the skills necessary to grasp application concepts and tool suite.
Identifies and resolves problems often anticipating issues before they occur or before they grow; develops and evaluates options and implements solutions.
Executes manual software tests of complex Point of sale hardware and software systems.
Participates in requirements & use case reviews.
Participates in the defect triage process, provides reports on defect tracking, and escalates technical issues as needed.
Oversees creating and gaining project approval on project test plans.
Assists with overseeing or generating all QA-related documentation and QA status reports.
Provides accurate estimates for QA resources and testing schedules.
Ensures adherence to standardized QA policies, processes and documentation standards.
Coordinates in-house, external and UAT testing and certification processes.
Collaborates with the development teams to resolve defects uncovered during testing cycles.
Attends daily stand up meetings and provides testing status.
Seeks opportunities to automate, document, share, educate, and improve processes where appropriate.
Follows standards in accordance with company policy and regulation.
REQUIRED
Minimum 3 years’ software quality assurance experience.
Familiarity with test management tools such as HP ALM, Jira.
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Ability to produce effective software test plans and test cases.
Strong knowledge of Agile, SDLC, and SQA methodologies.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with others.
Ability to learn quickly and independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work effectively and produce consistent results with a minimum of supervision. Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail-oriented.
Able to work well under pressure and handle crisis situations professionally.
Ability to easily adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.
Recommended
Strong understanding of evolving industry standards and technologies in the Point of Sale environment.

Experience testing in one or more of the following environments.
Distributed system environment.
Windows base Point of Sale applications.
Familiarity with Windows SystemInternal tool set and powershell
Degree in computer science or related technical field preferred.
Works well independently and in a team environment.

Level 1 - $65,000-$95,000
Level 2 - $85,000-$115,000
