Costco is looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst to support quality across team/data/domain specific applications. This is a new team at Costco and is fast paced, highly visible, supporting the business goals by being an industry leader in this space. The Quality Analyst works with their Quality Engineer and is responsible for the validation of functional and non-functional requirements implemented by a team. The Quality Analyst will complete software/web testing, debugging, developing, modifying and executing software strategies to ensure high quality data and deliverables are created.

ROLE

Confirms accuracy and completeness of functional, integration, system, end to end, and acceptance test plans.

Designs, creates and approves (or oversees the creation and approval of) project test cases, scripts and conditions as well as QA-related documentation.

Develops and ensures adherence to standardized software quality assurance best practices, policies, processes and controls as it pertains to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Develops and communicates accurate project estimates based on testing dependency analysis as requested by the project/management team.

Analyzes and determines test dependencies including QA environment, QA tools, training, build and deployment plans and communication processes.

Analyzes relevant business content and participates in requirement gathering sessions providing input on requirement and design documents, assessing requirements for testability, clarity, purpose, inherent ambiguity, contradictory functions and implementation.

Develops, documents and leads the Defect Management process.

Ensures test cases are traceable to originating story/requirement and those tests fully test feature requirements and/or user story acceptance criteria.

Manages defects appropriately by assigning, monitoring and providing timely communication through the defect lifecycle.

Conducts QA risk management process throughout the test plan phase defining and differentiating between risk, defect, and issue.

Assists teammates in growing and developing the skills necessary to grasp application concepts and tool suite.

Identifies and resolves problems often anticipating issues before they occur or before they grow; develops and evaluates options and implements solutions.

Builds and executes software test strategies, test plans and test scripts.

Creates and maintains high quality documentation on products and testing procedures.

Maintains the automated testing suite and accompanying framework for a given product.

Assists projects, functions, or teams in planning quality management for their area of responsibility.

Collaborates in the development of new or improved practices and organizational processes or standards.

REQUIRED

2+ years’ current design and development experience in C# (Java is acceptable).

2+ years’ development experience in any scripting language.

2+ years’ experience with backend testing writing SQL queries and testing Stored Procedures.

2+ years’ experience using Automation tools like Ranorex, Jenkins, SauceLabs, Splunk, Selenium etc.

Proficient with Agile testing methodologies and best practices.

Communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work both independently and within a close team environment.

Teamwork and self-assessment to continually find better ways to operate.

Recommended

Testing and automation experience with iSeries/mainframe applications.

Ability to apply agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.

Experience collaborating in reviews of work with others as appropriate.

Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps.

Pay Ranges:

Level 3 - $105,000 - $135,000

Level 4 - $125,000 - $160,000
