The Gallipolis Developmental Center is located along the Ohio River within the historic city of Gallipolis. We provide off-campus work/habilitative activities provided during the day. In addition, we also have an Activity Center on-ground for habilitation, recreation, work-readiness and therapeutic training for individuals choosing those activities. We also provide a full array of health services, as well.

What You'll Do:
- Independently manages & coordinates overall development & implementation of client-based habilitative programing (e.g., individual program plan, individual behavior guidelines, etc.) for approximately 16-24 individuals with developmental disabilities at the Gallipolis Developmental Center: Chairs the interdisciplinary team & coordinate services from all internal & external support services (e.g., speech, medical, pharmacy, social services, psychology, psychiatry, vocational, educations, recreational, occupational therapy, physical therapy, dental, dietary, etc.) in order to meet client needs & ensure quality care of care. Ensures all rendered services are therapeutic, compliant with rules (e.g., individual program plan) & effective, to promote habilitation of the individual. Follows up on recommendations, observes program implementation & recommends program changes. Formulates & coordinates the annual comprehensive functional assessment for each client (e.g., coordinating & verifying information from all necessary disciplines to meet client needs). Completes a comprehensive annual individual plan and monthly analysis of each client’s status, needs, UIR trends & recommendations. Calls & chairs special team meetings as clients need dictates. Coordinates input from all services & meeting minutes into an Individual program plan for each client & ensures that any discrepancies or conflicts between support services are resolved. Develops client training goals based upon team recommendation. Ensures documentation meets Medicaid & licensure standards& requirements, makes corrections & updates to deficiencies. Supervises assigned staff: Hires (interviews & makes selection), trains, orients; completes performance evaluations, signs request for leave forms. Participates in step 1 hearings & disciplinary hearings; recommends discipline. Author & develop consents for behavior implementation, and work with Health and safety to develop prevention plans. Ensures staff are trained in effective delivery of training techniques/methods, ensures habilitative services & documentation meet requirements (e.g., develops forms, reviews program to determine effectiveness/compliance, discusses individual progress with service providers); assures compliance (e.g., reviews standards, monitors unit, corrects deficient areas) with rules, regulations & policies (e.g., licensure, DODD Administrative Rules & policies). Conducts routine rounds of residential areas & other service facilities to ensure active treatment is administered as required (e.g., review staff/resident interaction, program/scenario implementation, rotation of attention, etc.) & ensure proper documentation of implementation; prepare for team meetings & collects data of resident progress; sets up regular & special meetings to discuss need for special programs & interventions. Works with program disciplines to establish individual goals & objectives & prioritization of goals & objectives. Write individual programs, changes to &/or modifications of programs on ongoing basis & corrections of deficiencies. Models appropriate interactions & interventions (e.g., teaching strategies, prompt hierarchies, behavior managme4nt techniques) with individuals & staff; work with other departments to facilitate transfers of individuals (e.g., recommends placement, visits, etc.). Provides information (e.g., individual progress, adjustment to new living area, program options) for discussion with families, guardians, &/or community agencies & county boards of developmental disabilities, etc. Provides information to pre-survey & survey teams (e.g., answers questions, locates & explains documents); participates in writing & implementing plans of compliance to correct cited deficiencies; recommends proposed changes in policies and procedures. Participates in planning meetings; may participate in community outreach activities (e.g., providing training, observation, meeting attendance); attends workshops/conferences, etc. Attends mandatory in-services & conducts training (e.g. PACES, CPR, safety, etc.); serves on committees, acts for other QIDPs, as required; performs other duties within range & scope of position.

- Individual who holds at least a bachelor’s degree in professional human services category (e.g., Psychology, Education, Anthropology).
- Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy
- Registered Nurse
Knowledge of Medicaid/ICF/IID laws, rules, regulations & guidelines & state licensure standards*; Department of Developmental Disabilities policies & developmental center policies, or Department of Youth Services policies & juvenile facility policies*; supervisory principles & techniques; employee training & development; psychology; sociology; public relations; special education; rehabilitation counseling; management. Skill in use of calculator; personal computer. Ability to act as chairperson of inter-disciplinary team meetings; facilitate discussion & analyze/modify habilitation plans; gather multi-faceted data (e.g., psychology, social services, medical) & formulate individual habilitation plans; deal with many Medicaid/ICF/IID regulations & determine specific course of action; calculate fractions, decimals & percentages; maintain accurate records; comprehend & discuss highly complex psychological, sociological, medical & social service material.
