This is a 14 months contract. Remote BUT preferably located in Taylor, TX.

Summary of Responsibilities

Develop and support application testing strategies, create test plans and test scripts. Lead and coordinate quality assurance and testing activities in support of the client’s projects with business testers. Perform system, regression and functional testing. Create testing timelines for projects, including milestones, and provide daily updates to the project team of progress against timeline. Create reports and dashboards on defect metrics and testing progress using test management tool (Micro Focus Quality Center, Qtest).

Essential Job Duties

• Develop and modify test scenarios and test scripts
• Perform day-to-day coordination of testing activities
• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the supervisor/manager from time to time, as may be reasonably required of them.
• Ensure that testing is completed to agreed standards and that business and operational acceptance criteria are met
• Analyze and understand solution requirements, architecture, technical designs and processes in order to define necessary scope of automated testing.
• Manage testing effort and defects though defect lifecycle
• Report to management on testing and quality requirements/activities in order to identify any deviations from plan and to carry out any necessary corrective action
• Supports test data requests
• Coordinate functional, technical and vendor resources in testing efforts to ensure that the client’s testing process and procedure are followed.
• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, perform tasks assigned by the supervisor and manager
• Liaise with other management and IT disciplines to ensure project testing objectives are met
• Report to management on automated and manual testing and quality requirements/activities, to identify deviations from plan and carry out corrective action.
• Perform manual and automated system, regression and functional testing
• Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules or potential problems that may impact the quality of automation regression suite or overall product features.
• Develop and promote quality testing practices
• Develop test strategy, test plan and communicate strategy to relevant disciplines/stakeholders clearly and appropriately
• Create testing progress reports, dashboard and test coverage using test management tool QC (ALM) or Qtest
• Review test scripts to ensure appropriate tests are created and executed correctly to verify requirements

Required Technical Skills

• Oracle RDBMS. This includes competency with PL/SQL and a general familiarity with general concepts such as relational database analysis and design as well as SQL tuning.
• HP Unified Functional Tester (UFT). Experience in running, and modifying VB script tests.
• Qtest or HP Quality Center (ALM) and JIRA
• Familiarity with TOSCA and Selenium test automation tool
• Experience with general software development life cycle practices.
• Experience with general Software Quality Assurance/Quality Control testing techniques, standards, practices, and related technologies.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Information Systems or related field or eight years applicable experience is required.

Work Experience

• Superior computer skills including common business applications such as MS Windows and MS Office including Excel, Word and Access
• Proven ability to deliver quality results in a busy and dynamic business focused environment.
• Experience using PL/SQL for data validation
• 5+ years of experience with software Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) practices. This includes common test design techniques.
• Minimum of 3 years with data validation and ETL process
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well with a team.
• Experience working with GUI object recognition and customization.

• Minimum of 5 years with Micro Focus Quality Center (ALM) and/or Qtest
• Comfortable in both, a UNIX and Windows based environment.
• 3+ years of experience with one of various scripting languages (i.e. JavaScript, Vbscript,Python, etc).
• 3+ years of managing and coordinating system and application testing
• Demonstrable experience of creating quality assurance artifacts to include test plans, test scripts and test reporting
• Familiarity with general concepts surrounding web services and web applications. This includes web technologies such as HTML 5, CSS, and JQuery.
• Familiarity with common source control systems and configuration management.
• Minimum of 5 years (in excess of degree requirements stated above) of progressively responsible experience in Software system and application testing
• Familiarity with general concepts surrounding XML and Oracle RDBMS.
