Job Description
Position Overview:
The Purchasing Agent performs all duties and activities related to the purchase of goods for the Production and Customer Support departments. Interacts with suppliers to maintain pricing and delivering schedules. Interacts with the internal team members as a liaison between supply orders and demand orders.
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Routine purchase order review an follow-up, and expediting or orders
  • Source vendors and procure/negotiate better pricing on current items
  • Coordinate order status report submissions from suppliers. Resolve changes and discrepancies, and update purchase order information accordingly
  • Receipt of orders and ensure the accuracy of goods as per quotes and orders
  • Coordinate the return of unused or unneeded items; track return orders
  • Confirm and approve pricing
  • Maintain records of purchases
  • Review, create, and submit purchase orders to vendors as per work orders, reorder point, and sales orders
  • Maintain suppliers price list
Required Education and Experience:
  • Able to perform basic mathematical computations and apply the concepts of fractions and percentages to practical situations
  • Must be proficient, quick and comfortable with personal computer navigation and operation
  • At least three years in a position with purchasing responsibilities
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with MS Office
  • Google Doc experience a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems (MAS 90/100 preferred)
  • Experienced defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, draw valid conclusions and resolve discrepancies in a reasonable amount of time
  • Able to effectively communicate and understand job instructions verbally and written
  • Minimum of high school diploma, GED or equivalent. Degree in business preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility - this position does not have supervisory responsibilities
Work Environment - this job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work - this is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel - this position does not have travel requirements.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications - must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
