Job Description

Company: Nextera Packaging

Position: Purchasing and Transportation Specialist

Duration: Permanent, fulltime

Location: On-site in Saint Paul, MN 5 days per week

Payrate: $50-70k/yr


Must-haves

-Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) experience

-3 years of experience of purchasing or inventory management experience

-Strong ability to independently prioritize, problem-solve, multi-task, and meet deadlines with excellent attention to detail

-Outstanding oral, written, and listening communication skills

-Instinctively self-motivated and driven

-Proactively identifying and recommending opportunities for improvement. Thinks creatively and abstractly to develop alternative possibilities to drive logistics performance

-Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite

Plusses

-Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central is a plus

-Familiarity with the food packaging industry is a plus

Day-to-Day

Your Responsibilities:

-Prepare and place purchase orders with vendors (Domestic & International)

-Prepare and execute purchase return order processing

-Review existing purchase order status to ensure the orders are shipping complete and on time

-Maintain and update vendor and item specific information in the ERP and TMS systems as needed

-Maintain and troubleshoot Demand Planning Software and TMS (Including forecast adjustments, data input entry, outbound order rating/tendering)

-Complete and enter receiving paperwork and update the ERP system accordingly

-Review and report on company performance (inventory levels, back orders, Etc.) for all locations

-Coordinate, arrange, monitor, track, and report transportation logistics for vendor orders, transfer orders, and special orders

-Import/Export order processing

-Create, manage, and build carrier relationships

-Support the Purchasing Manager and Director of Logistics with system updates, running reports, and organizing data as needed

-Support the Sales team with processing order requests as needed

-Interact on a regular basis with various departments in order to promote a comprehensive team approach.
