Job Description

POSITION: Psychologist

LOCATION: To be determined

STATUS: Full-time

EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Exempt

OTHER: Sign-on bonus & loan repayment available

WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours/wk. (possibility of a four-day workweek)

SUMMARY: Provides assessment, treatment, psychotherapy, case management, and referral to a broad range of clients. This may include a variety of treatment modalities including individual, couples, family, or group therapy. Clients can range in age from young children to the elderly. Treatments are provided in accordance with best practice and professional ethics and boundaries.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Provide collaboration with law enforcement, probation and parole agents, schools, employers and other treatment providers as requested and released by the client.
  • Arranges for or refers patients to needed services.
  • Knowledge necessary for implementation of basic skills in regards to mental health counseling; including psychological, emotional, substance abuse, and social issues.
  • Knowledge of legal implications, including HIPAA involved in providing mental health services.
  • Provides evaluation of patient needs.
  • Assures that patient records are maintained with concise, legible and pertinent documentation.
  • Provide case management services and crisis intervention as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with substance abuse counseling
  • State of ME Psychologist license required
  • Certified Clinical Supervisor license preferred
